Below you'll find a list of my personal recommendations on websites, podcasts, books and other resources I find helpful!
Free Online Birth Charts
Astro.com is an amazing resource for astrologers of all levels. They offer a lot free content including a ton of different chart options for free with their Extended Chart Selection section (linked). I prefer the visuals of these birth charts over all others online.
CafeAstrology.com is another great resource with free detailed birth chart write-ups. They are a go-to resource for me.
ChaosAstrology.com has very well-written & free detailed birth chart reports.
I'd recommend trying a lot of different sites with free reports when starting out!
Videos, Podcasts, & Other Sites
Tarot for the Wild Soul Podcast with Lindsay Mack - and everything else Lindsay Mack does! This podcast is true medicine. I recommend it to almost everyone I talk to. Lindsay is an intuitive, tarot reader, and teacher. In her Monthly Medicine episodes she goes over the energy of the month and teaches us how to prepare for these energies. She is deeply wise and is such a light. And she has a beautiful speaking voice!
The Astrology Podcast with Chris Brennan is amazing resource for astrologers and I am forever thankful of Chris for this contribution to the community. Chris interviews astrologers on many different topics and schools of astrology. I always tune in for the monthly forecast episodes where Chris, Kelly Surtees, and Austin Coppock dive into the energies of the month ahead. It is always a lengthy but rich discussion. Again, truly grateful for this resource!
Anne Ortlee's Weekly Weather Podcast is another one I've been listening to for over 5 years. Every Sunday evening, Anne gives an update of the upcoming week's astro-weather. She's quirky and deeply knowledgeable, a staple within the community.
Nadiya Shah's Youtube Channel - another astrologer with a wealth of knowledge and the ability to give extremely insightful forecasts and horoscopes. I regularly check Nadiya's channel for monthly horoscopes (remember to check for both your rising sign & your sun sign when looking at individual horoscopes!)
Person-to-Person Astrology: Energy Factors in Love, Sex and Compatibility by Stephen Arroyo is always my first recommendation, partly because it's the first astrology book I read. I'd recommend any of Arroyo's books, especially from a beginner perspective. Arroyo has a Jungian / archetypal approach to astrology.
Astrology, Psychology, and the Four Elements: An Energy Approach to Astrology and Its Use in the Counseling Arts by Stephen Arroyo is another favorite, and a highly recommended starter book.
Astrology and the Authentic Self: Integrating Traditional and Modern Astrology to Uncover the Essence of the Birth Chart by Demetra George is another great beginner / intermediate text. This book helps you synthesize traditional and modern astrology into a helpful and practical practice.
Cosmos and Psyche: Intimations of a New World View by Richard Tarnas is a groundbreaking text that all astrologers should own. Summary from amazon.com: "From a philosopher whose magisterial history of Western thought was praised by Joseph Campbell and Huston Smith comes a brilliant new book that traces the connection between cosmic cycles and archetypal patterns of human experience" I couldn't recommend Cosmos and Psyche enough, to astrologers and non-astrologers alike.
Hellenistic Astrology: The Study of Fate and Fortune by Chris Brennan. If you're looking for a comprehensive text on Traditional and Hellenistic, Chris's book is a go-to. I admittedly haven't read it yet, but I've been following Chris and his work since I discovered astrology and can stand by his dedication and thoroughness.
Healing the Soul: Pluto, Uranus, and the Lunar Nodes by Mark Jones is another book I highly recommend for any interested in evolutionary astrology, or astrology of the soul and destiny. Definitely for those looking to dive deep into the psychological aspects of astrology.
Linda Goodman's Love Signs: A New Approach to the Human Heart for any interested in love & compatibility. There are 2 volumes of this book, and Linda Goodman goes through every combination of signs in depth. It's scarily accurate!
